Kate & Leons Wedding

Back at the August bank holiday weekend I shot the Wedding of my friends and neighbours Kate & Leon.

We were blessed with great weather for the day. Here are a few of my favourite images.

Here is Leon finalising his speech, although the proceedings were very relaxed and informal.

Kate looked lovely in her elegant dress.

November Sunrise

These images were all shot on my iPhone4 on my daily commute.

The residue of vapour trails makes for some interesting patterns in the sky.

The rich pink amber glow as the sun begins to rise on the outskirts of Great Missenden.

I paused just outside Marlow at a field entrance to capture this scene.

The sunrise this morning was stunning. It’s rich colours drew me like a moth towards a flame. The shapes and patterns in the clouds bathed in the early sun light are fantastic and will always make the day seem great.

Enjoy

Rob’s Tank Day!

A very good friend of ours, Rob, celebrated a very special birthday earlier this year, one of those that end in a zero!

Not wishing to let this special event pass without some kind of celebration a group of us clubbed together and arranged for Rob to have a Tank Driving Experience at Juniper Leisure near Winchester.

The group all drove down the night before staying near to Juniper Leisure at a local hotel. Rob’s excitement was palpable as we enjoyed a relaxing dinner, then with a beam on his face like a child on Christmas Eve; Rob excused himself and went to bed leaving the rest of us in the bar.

As you can see from the first couple of images Rob is hiding any nerves and is ready to tackle anything!

Those of us that stayed later in the bar did need some additional morning sustenance to bring out their sparkling smiles! Never underestimate the recuperative properties of a cheese roll especially when coupled with a steaming mug of hot tea!

Here is Rob about to whizz off on a four wheel drive quad bike.

Here Sharon proves that even on the top of a Chieftain Tank you can still execute the perfect “Halfords Elbow”

Rob has just driven the Chieftain Tank!

Well done, although I am not sure that the Naval Salute is quite appropriate!

My grandfather always told me “In the Army they want to check that your hands are clean, but in the Navy they trust you” – but then he was an old sailor!

Not quite a Billericy mini cab – but doesn’t Rob look that part in this Gulf War Armoured Personnel Carrier.

Hang on where did it say ‘Tank Racing?’ but with no wing mirrors Rob is blissfully unaware that he is being tail gated!

The concentration for the final parallel parking manoeuvre.

So here is our very good friend Rob, smiling with his certificate of achievement confirming all the vehicles that he drove.

Wendover Woods – Alzheimers Memory Walk

A couple  of weekends ago Claire and I volunteered to help our local branch of the Alzheimers Society with the organisation of one of their memory walks in Wendover Woods a local forest near our home in Buckinghamshire. Claire managed most of the publicity and I led the walk.

The first image shows part of the trail that we followed.

The second image is a open part of the trail with plenty of wild blackberries and butterflies.

Here are some of the other attendees that supported the walk, there were two routes a short walk of about 1.5km followed by a longer walk of 3.5km. Many raising money in memory of a relative or loved one.

This group walked together all the way rounds and were pleased at the finish to have completed the walk quicker than their previous attempt.

Claire and I both felt that supporting such a worthwhile cause was a great way to spend part of our weekend.

Henry Moore at Denver Botanic Gardens

During our visit to Denver we took the opportunity to visit the stunning Botanic Gardens, Claire was especially looking forward to this part of our Denver trip as Henry Moore is one of her favourite artists.

There were 20 pieces that had been located through the gardens.

Below are a selection of images showing some of the sculptures and some of the floral exhibits.

Thank you for visiting my site and taking the time to view my work.
